Requirements

A personal loan from eny Credit is possible if you

  • are resident in Switzerland,
  • are employed as an employee,
  • hold Swiss citizenship or a residence permit B or C,
  • are of legal age.

A loan is not possible for self-employed people and for companies. We say this openly on purpose: if you work on your own account, this information saves you an application that would have to be declined.

1. What is a personal loan?

A personal loan is a cash loan to a private individual that you repay in fixed monthly instalments. The amount is paid into your account and is available to you without any tie to a specific purpose.

Up to and including CHF 80’000, a personal loan is in principle subject to the KKG, unless another statutory exception applies. Loans above CHF 80’000 do not, in principle, fall within its scope. What this means for your statutory protection rights is explained on the page about the Consumer Credit Act.

2. What does a personal loan cost in Switzerland?

The annual percentage rate is between 4.90 % and 9.90 %. It contains all costs of the eny loan and is the central standardised basis for comparison. In addition, compare the term, the monthly instalment and the total amount.

The rate depends on creditworthiness. For cash loans that are subject to the KKG, the statutory maximum rate has been 10 % since 1 January 2026. The eny maximum rate of 9.90 % applies as a product feature to larger loan amounts as well.

3. How do you apply for a personal loan online?

  1. Set the amount and the term in the calculator.
  2. Complete the application form online.
  3. Receive a provisional credit decision, usually within around 3 minutes.
  4. Submit your documents (proof of salary, identity document, bank statements).
  5. After the assessment you receive the binding decision and, if approved, the contract.

With a KKG contract the withdrawal period is 14 days from receipt of the copy of the contract. The actual payout date depends on the final decision and on the agreed process.

4. Who can get a personal loan?

Employed people who are resident in Switzerland and hold Swiss citizenship or a permit B or C. What then matters is whether the monthly instalment fits your budget.

Self-employed people, people without earned income and companies cannot take out a personal loan with eny Credit.

5. How is your creditworthiness assessed?

eny assesses every application. With KKG loans the credit capacity assessment is required by law. It is based on income, fixed expenses and existing commitments. For the statutory calculation, repayment within 36 months is assumed, even if the contractual term is longer.

Existing loans and commitments are included in the assessment and must be stated in full in the application. How the assessment works in detail is explained in the guide to credit assessment in Switzerland.

6. Which rights do you have after signing the contract?

Two rights are particularly important for KKG contracts:

  • Withdrawal from KKG contracts: you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the copy of the contract, without giving reasons.
  • Early repayment: you can repay the loan at any time, in full or in part.

7. What can you use the personal loan for?

The loan is not tied to a purpose — you do not have to document a reason for using it. It often involves a vehicle, furnishing a home, further education, dental treatment or replacing more expensive commitments.

For vehicle financing, the page on the car loan with ownership of the vehicle is the relevant one. If you want to replace an existing, more expensive loan, the route runs via loan replacement and refinancing.

When a loan is not the right answer

A loan solves a financing gap, but not a structural deficit. If your ongoing expenses are regularly higher than your income, an additional loan makes the situation worse.

In that situation, independent advice is the better first step: Debt Counselling Switzerland (schulden.ch) advises free of charge and independently. Whether a loan makes sense in your situation is also put into context by the guide When a personal loan makes sense.

Frequently asked questions

When do I receive a provisional credit decision?

You usually receive the provisional credit decision within around 3 minutes. The binding decision follows as soon as your documents have been assessed in full.

How much can I borrow on my income?

There is no blanket formula for this. What matters is the budget calculation: income minus fixed expenses and existing commitments. If the monthly instalment remains affordable within it, the loan is possible.

Can I repay my personal loan early?

With a KKG contract, yes, at any time, in full or in part. Other loan amounts are governed by the contractual terms.

Can I withdraw from the loan agreement afterwards?

With a KKG contract, yes. The 14-day period starts when you receive the copy of the contract.

Can I get a loan despite ongoing debt enforcement proceedings?

As a rule, no. Ongoing debt enforcement proceedings are included in the assessment and often speak against approval. With KKG contracts, no provider may skip the statutory credit capacity assessment. If debts are weighing on you, contact an independent debt counselling service (schulden.ch).

Can self-employed people get a personal loan from eny Credit?

No. The offer is aimed at employed staff resident in Switzerland. Self-employed people and companies cannot apply for a personal loan.

Is the payment protection insurance compulsory?

No. It is a voluntary additional product and not a condition for granting the loan. Costs and cover are shown separately.

What does the application cost me?

The application is free of charge and non-binding until you accept the contract.

Can I replace an existing loan with a personal loan?

Yes, if the new terms are cheaper and the assessment is positive. You can do the sums with the calculator for replacing existing loans.

Can I manage my loan online?

Yes. You can see your contract details and account movements at any time in the eny Control customer portal.
